Mr. Gregg T. Watson, our Founder and CEO wasn’t happy with how Liberia was portrayed in the media –  stories of the Civil War and the Ebola crisis painted a grim picture that didn’t reflect the beauty, kindness, and resilience he found everywhere in his home country. Determined to share a different narrative, Watson embarked on a mission: to showcase Liberia’s true spirit to visitors.
Visit Mama Liberia Today was born from a combination of that frustration and a deep love for his homeland. Watson, alongside a team of young, determined Liberians, envisioned a tourism company that would show visitors Liberia’s stunning beaches, vibrant festivals, and delicious cuisine and connect them with the country’s rich history and innovative spirit. Additionally, sustainability is a core value, ensuring the future of Liberia’s tourism thrives alongside its natural beauty.
Offering more than just tours, we foster genuine connections between locals and tourists. Watson and his guides, fueled by their scrappiness and a burning desire to build a better future for their nation, go beyond the expected, breaking the mold to create personalized experiences that cater to every traveler’s desire.
